Tim Bete (pronounced “beet”) is author of the the new book, Cap'n Billy "The Butcher"
MacDougall's Guide to Pirate Parenting: Why you should raise your kids as pirates and 101 tips
on how to do it. Tim began his nautical adventures as a child sailing on Buzzards Bay off the
coast of Massachusetts. At age 10, he longed for a small cannon to put on his grandfather’s
30-foot wooden ketch—a quick, two-masted vessel that is perfect for catching other ships so
you can plunder ’em. His parents scuttled the cannon idea, saying he “would terrorize other
boats with it.” That’s exactly what he had in mind.
Tim's parenting advice has been published in dozens of newspapers, magazines and Web
sites, including the Christian Science Monitor, Atlanta Parent, Big Apple Parent, Northwest
Family, FathersWorld.com and ParentingHumor.com. His first book, In the Beginning…There Were
No Diapers, was a 2006 Foreword Best Book of the Year finalist. Tim’s hobbies include
pushing his luck and skating on thin ice. In his spare time, he’s director of the Erma
Bombeck Writers’ Workshop. You can visit his Web sites at:

Praise for "Then Comes the Child": “Disturbing as hell; extreme horror with a high I.Q. and
a compassionate heart. I read it in one sitting.” --Gary Braunbeck, author of Destinations
Unknown and Prodigal Blues
"Angeline Hawkes writes with the fatalistic poetry of unstoppable history
gone disturbingly wrong. The tales of Memento Mori wrestle fiends of the Civil War and demons
of medieval times; they peel back the veil on futuristic cloning gone bad and vampiristic
babes left like ticking bombs on foggy doorsteps. Whether she sets her sights ahead or behind
our noon, on sci-fi parable or fantastic fable, Angeline finds one constant – the darkness
that slips close as a noose when the cautions of conscience are ignored and shadows infiltrate
the heart unfettered." – John Everson, author of Covenant, Bram
Stoker Award for First Novel

Liam Jackson should be known as the “accidental writer”. He wrote his
first novel during a bout of boredom while recovering from a nasty work-related incident in
the late-nineties. Completion of his first book, Offspring, and subsequent related
stories comes as a great shock to his former high school and university teachers, most all of
whom believed his greatest talent lay not in writing, but in avoiding detention hall for
myriad creative offenses, or inflicting cruel and unusual punishment upon opposing running
backs on the football field.
Liam’s first book, Offspring, is scheduled for release on Oct. 3,
2006, and has already generated some serious attention due to his treatment of angelic and
demonic subject matter. The book has been described as horror, a supernatural thriller, and
mainstream fiction. Inclusion in the third genre thoroughly confuses Liam. He also wears a
puzzled expression much of the time, unable to understand the growing hoopla around
Offspring, and the fact that the story began attracting attention long before a
publication date was announced.
In early 2006, Liam contracted with St. Martin’s Press to complete the
Offspring tale in trilogy form, and then begin work on a spin-off series featuring some of the
more notable characters from the first.
Liam is a career law enforcement officer, and has spent the last 6 years
of his professional life working in various government programs regarding terrorism
counter-measures and homeland defense. He was awarded the distinguished Silver Star for
Bravery in 1992 by the American Police Hall of Fame. His career in public service career comes
to a halt in late 2006.
As he enters his second life, Liam looks forward to days of writing,
nights of cuddling with his wife of twenty years, with each interrupted by sporadic moments of
tag-team wrestling with the Terrible Three; a Catahoula Leopard dog, an Australian Sheppard,
and a miniature Schnauzer. It should be noted that Liam has never won a single bout against
the Terrible Three
In late 2005, Liam authored Sins of the Fathers, a somewhat more
traditional mystery/horror tale involving the rich and mysterious realm of Vodoun (voodoo) in
the Deep South. Sins of the Fathers should be out in early 2007.

| Kelsy
George is a published author who spent a lot of years on the Canadian
prairies—where winter meant “you didn’t do a lot of things once the sun went
down”. Before
writing fiction, Kelsy wrote radio commercials, newspaper ads, and business
video scripts for 8 years—“nothing that would make it on the USA Today list”.
Then she
took off about 20 years to breed and show horses, and then dogs. After deciding
she was too old to run around at top speed showing her Labradors and other’s
Boxers and Dalmations, she retired gracefully from the scene, closed down her
kennel and persuaded her husband to live someplace warmer than Edmonton,
Alberta.
As soon as
he retired, they loaded up their travel trailer and headed to Vancouver Island
where she writes, chases deer from her flower beds, and has discovered that
evergreen trees actually stay green year-round—at least in the more moderate
climate.
After
taking a creative writing course from a TOR published author (and working for
her publishing company for a year), Kelsy has managed to publish two works of
fiction, with a third in the editing phase.
About
Kelsy’s publisher: Cerridwen publishes both e-books and books. The books come
out first as an e-book. Blind Justice came out in March as an e-book and will
be released at the end of September in print.
Blind
Justice has won two Golden Heart awards, in 2004 and 2005. It also placed
second in her local chapter of RWA.
Kelsy is also a moderator with the online group
