Welcome to The Writer’s Chatroom! 

We’re so much more than a mere chatroom.  We’re a vibrant group of writers whose work spans all genres, who join together to encourage one another and to share important information regarding the profession of writing.   

We hope you enjoy your time here!  Check out our Previous Guest page for more information about the many who’ve been brave enough to grace our chatroom.  (We’ve been told they had a good time, too.) 

Please use links found on these pages to purchase at places like amazon.com—to keep this chatroom “free”.  And please buy our guests’ books through our links!  We appreciate it—and so do they! 

Celebrity Sundays:

Famous writers, up-and-coming authors, and other notables closely tied to the writing and publishing industry will be our featured guests each Sunday at 7:00 PM EST.  These chats will be moderated to allow those in attendance to gain the most from each chat.  

Guest chats are moderated using a queue format.  No password needed for scheduled chats!   

You need not be a member of TWC to attend chats, but you must subscribe to the newsletter to receive updates and scheduled guest information.  (see top left of page) 

Open Chat Wednesdays:

We’ll be flinging open the doors each Wednesday from 8:00 to 11:00 PM EST for un-moderated discussions between writers and aspiring writers.    

(Caveat:  The room will be open for writers to talk to each other.  If the room is abused, the open time will be discontinued. We must do this to protect the owner and moderators in today’s litigious society.  Transcripts of all open chats will be made available to law enforcement, if necessary.)  

The Writer’s Chatroom Newsletter:

Our newsletter is sent out at the beginning of each month.  Included will be articles about writing, information about upcoming guests, announcements, and a letter from the Editor, Audrey Shaffer. 

We will continue to send announcements as reminders for each chat, so sign up to receive the newsletter and the announcements (one sign-up, in upper left corner of this page).  You never know what else we might offer up in the announcements.

The Forum:

The Writer’s Chatroom forum is up and running.  Now you have a place to discuss writing 24/7.  Read the posts, add your comments, or start a new thread.   

The forum has private message capability. Also, many have listed their Instant Messenger IDs on their profiles.  

Contests:

We’ll be hosting regularly scheduled writing contests.  Our first-ever was sponsored by friend-of-the-chatroom and frequent guest, C. Hope Clark of Funds for Writers fame.  More contest information will be available in the TWC newsletter, and at the Forum. 

Workshops and classes:
