Writing a Synopsis
A synopsis has a specific form. It is written in the present tense no matter what tense your novel uses. It should follow a single viewpoint character, even if the novel involves more than one viewpoint character. A synopsis is written in third person, again, the novel may be done in first person. Sticking to these guidelines will reassure the editor or agent that you are being professional.

Read Deeply and Write Like the World is Ending
When you are writing, write with wild abandon. Write as though your life depends upon it. Experiment with your writing. Try poetry. Write an article for a Trade Magazine. Jot down that memory that doesn’t need to be shared.

Dear Reader
When you have a clear picture of who your ideal reader is, it allows you to write specifically for them. But it also allows you to feel more connected to them and to write in a more conversational way. Because it’s less formal, it makes for a much more engaging book.

Book Trailers
If you make your own book trailer do you know how to get permission to put music in? Where will you get your images? How long should it be? Where will you home the file?
