Writing for Children: is there Joy?
The thing that held me back in my writing kids’ books turned out to be all of the rules. The only rule I could go all in with was that if you word could not be found in a middle grade dictionary it should not be used in a story, book or article.

Write what you know. Now, I disagree with this, I love research and interviewing people. Don’t be satisfied by sticking to what you know when there is a whole world of people and books waiting to be explored and exploited for our writing pleasure.
